GOals and Halloween

I love October and the Halloween season and this year it was very fun. We had a murder mystery with some friends and we all dressed up. Then on the 31st, We went over to Debbie N Joe's house. They provided a great dinner and we had people dress up as 80's pop stars, Ghosts, Witch, Gypsy, Baseball player, Cat, Flapper girl and well....it was a lot of fun. After dinner we decorated cookies and voted on the best cookie. Then we stayed up chatting and, it was really fun.
Now that a new month is here, all we can do is look forward to an even better month!
GOOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLLSSSS!
Oh boy so many goals, so little time till 2010.
I only have one goal that Is realistic and I hope to reach it by the end of the year. To read the Book of Mormon. I have the assignment due for my institute class at the end of this year, but it's also a personal goal. Hubby and I also try to read during FHE, when we have it. It's very hard to remember to have FHE, since it's just us two. We have great friends who are great examples for us. Hopefully we can keep doing the things we know we need to do. That way, when we have kids, we will already be in the habit. I don't want to wait till we have kids to start doing things we could be doing now. Anyway, I am glad it's November. It will soon be my birthday and well older and and hopefully more wise, even though I act like a little kid sometimes. Right Now life is not so hard, but I know trials are always going to come and go. I worry about my future and our families and our children...and well whatever happens is for a reason. Either way God is always with us no matter what. I'm glad we are both healthy and THANKFUL for friends, our wonderful families and every blessing we receive.

Babies

NO we are not having babies..yet. ANd, yes we are happy for those who have children or babies. It's great when people start having kids and their families start getting bigger. So far, Steve's sister Danielle has 2 babies (Brooklyn and Carter) and his youngest sister is pregnant! My brother and his wife are having a baby girl (Amberlyn) in December and my friend from H.S. Tania had a baby(Legend Rainn) a couple of days ago. Let's see Leech is pregnant too, and so is her sister Elsie. It's a great time to be pregnant! Steve would like to have babies too, pretty soon actually, but I am not quite ready. I guess I just have a few things I want to do before I have kids. I would like to stay at home with them. Yes, someday I will have kids. I can't wait for my Bro to have his baby since he will be the first in our immediate family , but he lives in Guatemala so we'll have to go visit him sometime, but it's kind of expensive to fly there. Well love you Jared and Glendy.

I heart you...Gaby

The latest

Well so far it's been a great year, but pretty soon, it will be 2010. Time sure flies..and you have to sit down and catch up with life. I think about good things I've done and what can I still do before the year ends. Well I am in school still and enrolled in institute. Also my Best friend is engaged. Pretty much every other week Steve and I attend a wedding. How exciting :) I love going to weddings, because you get to dress up! I hate it when people wear jeans to a wedding, how tacky. Honestly, you don't have one dress in your closet or a pair of slacks? So, next week we will be going to a wedding and I can tell you now, I won't be caught dead in jeans.

I bought a car and sold mine within a week, but this one is nicer and It drives better. It has more power and better mileage since it is a Honda. I can't really drive manual though, but I did it for the first time ever! My sister pushed me to do it, and I drove her home, I was so scared but I did it. Now I wonder when I will do it again? On second thought, I want to be really good at it.

It's funny that everyone seems to be getting married or is celebrating their anniversary. It will be my 2nd year anniversary this year. I really need to get that pic up top out of here...I look good there and now not so much.

I have a test this weekend surprise, surprise.

Before I bore you to death, I want to say that my challenge this year is to read the Book Of Mormon again. I have started and have plateaued, like the picture of the graph I drew the other day regarding enzymes. I have a great teacher and the spirit is so strong and he encourages all of us to read.

I really like to challenge myself. When I was little I wanted to be an elementary school teacher, but decided it wasn't for me. I thought about how smart I was when I was little not knowing a lot of English, but always being put on the spotlight for being smart. I even competed in Spelling Bee's and I remember that teacher's never really challenged me, I wish they had. Being a minority, teachers thought I wouldn't be very smart, but I proved them wrong. I did get put in advanced math after all. My sister told me growing up she didn't like her teachers because they always favored the smart kids or non-ethnic kids. I remember my teacher always ignored the little kids who were behind, and well it was their classroom. So, I decided I couldn't be a teacher because I probably would favor some kids over others...I don't know, I'm sure not all teachers do that. There are a lot of great teachers out there. I just have a different mentality I guess. I did an intership for 3 months with Kindergarten students at a low income school. I found that the teacher didn't want to waste her time on latino students/ slower students whose parents didn't teach them at home, so I would help them out and she would help the above average students. At the end of the year, they all could write pretty good, but I thought, what If I hadn't been there, oh well too bad...just gonna have to suffer through school because that's life. Anyway, I could continue on that topic..but I won't..there are a lot of if's but's and well, its a big issue. I just hope all children get the same opportunity in their education. The little kids who were behind caught up and all because someone was willing to help them.

Look at me, my parents couldn't really speak that much English, and I was never forced to do homework at home, but there were a few and I mean 1 or 2 teachers, that really influenced me and cared for me, not because I was latin or smart, but they knew my potential, and helped me get there, teachers that actually did their job.

Thanks to them, I get good grades now.

I just want to say," What a fool you are Mr. (Undisclosed) for telling us latino kids, that we would never go to college.....The Joke's on YOU!
And I bet you are still teaching kids a bunch of crap!
Too bad..It's ok though we forgive you, because you were just ignorant.

Anyway, I had to just voice my opinion, hope I didn't offend anyone.

Love gaby

My PUTTY

Putty Looking like a Diva as always! The flash on the camera made her eye look weird, oh well

Her little shirt says High Maintenance ha ha.

She is a spoiled one. She loves me and I love her. She follows me everywhere I go. And she hates saying bye to daddy when he goes to work. If she finds a box or a book, she'll be sure to lay on top of it and test it out.

A GREAT TEMPLE TRIP

Last Thursday I had the opportunity to go to the temple with a few friends and my Father In Law. It was amazing!!!! We drove up to the Draper Utah Temple and got lost, but we made it in time. We did baptisms for the dead. It was an awesome experience going to a temple that was recently dedicated. My Father In Law gave me some of his family names and it was great!! After that we went to eat @ burger king. Then, we went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple in South Jordan Area to the open house. It was amazing and beautiful. The spirit was so strong!!! I LOVED IT. Evelyn was the one who planned this trip. She is the sweetest person I know..she helps me be a better person each day. We laughed all the way there and back because when we are together, we just find every dumb joke and everything funny. I am so happy to have the opportunity to go to the temple and do the work for those who have passed on. I hope next time my hubby can go. He is always busy and well..he needs encouragement as do I. Our next planned trip is Bountiful, UT temple. We are trying to get people to go with us so if anyone is interested you can join our group and help us with family names too...Barsh family names :) Peace out.

Europe

This is how our trip planning came about.. Two weeks in France? Yes there would be a lot to do, but then Irene(mother in law) came over. She suggested we do a cruise and we agreed, planned it and were happy about the decision. We got a great deal on the cruise and flights..I mean a really excellent deal. We flew to France and stayed there for 1 day, the we flew to Barcelona, Spain and then after that we boarded the Ruby Princess Ship. It was really nice and awesome. WE had a blast. We visited several countries and our last day we came back to France from Venice, Italy and hung out there for 2 days. Amazing and incredible trip. I wish I could say more, but I already wrote in my journal like 10 pages of what we did and it would be boring to write on my blog. Also boring for readers. Anyway that is a summary. We saw a lot, ate a lot and spent a lot, but we figured it was something we wouldn't do for a long time and it would be well worth it. Especially that gondola ride yeesh 200 bucks. Anyway I love my hubby for taking me on this excellent trip. I am so grateful for the Lord blessing us. I am also grateful we were able to travel. Let's see 07' Hawaii, 08' Guatemala, 09' France,Italy,Spain,Turkey,Monaco, Greece Lets see where we go next year? I am so happy to live in a land of freedom, opportunity and a land where we are filled with love hope and harmony. We also live in a chosen land and we live in the same state as our dear Prophet President Monson. Thanks to all those who could just smile and be happy for us and those who wished us well. I luv you.
